Tragedy strikes as Russian strikes hit Kharkiv – President Zelensky expresses condolences

In a heartbreaking incident, Kharkiv has fallen victim to Russian airstrikes, leaving a devastating toll on innocent civilians. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, 13 people have been wounded in the attacks. Among the casualties, six were residents of Kyivskyi District, comprising three women and three men.

The Osnov’yanskyi District, which bore the brunt of the strikes, witnessed seven individuals wounded, including an 11-month-old boy. Tragically, the rescue teams also recovered the lifeless body of his 10-year-old brother from beneath the rubble.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of the young boy from Kharkiv. In a somber statement, President Zelensky said, “A child – a boy of ten years old… My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones! More than 20 people have been injured. All the wounded are receiving the necessary assistance. The rescue operation continues. I am grateful to everyone who is helping our people.”

He went on to express gratitude to Ukrainian soldiers for their unwavering determination and resilience in the face of adversity. “Our resilience, our progress, and our daily losses to the occupiers must be our response to Russian terror,” President Zelensky emphasized.

The tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where innocent civilians continue to suffer the consequences of armed hostilities. The international community is closely watching the situation, with many nations condemning the aggression and calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
